Then&There

A daily history game

Terms & Privacy
Updated May 22, 2026

Then & There is a small daily history game. These terms cover how we run it and what we do with your data. Plain language. No surprises.

What we collect

When you submit your email, we save it alongside your daily scores. That's the whole list:

We don't ask for your name, your location, or anything else.

What we do with it

Sharing your data

We don't currently share your data with third parties. As Then & There grows, we may build features that involve partners — brand collaborations, sponsored puzzles, educational licensing. If that ever affects you personally, we'll tell you what's changing and give you a choice before it happens.

We may share aggregated, anonymized data — for example, "47% of players guessed the Wright Brothers location within 50 miles" — without identifying any individual.

Your data

You own your data. If you want it deleted, email [email protected] and we'll remove your email, scores, and group memberships within seven days. Past leaderboard entries get scrubbed too.

Groups

You can create groups and invite people. Keep group names civil — no slurs, no harassment, no impersonation of real brands or public figures. We reserve the right to delete groups that violate this.

About the puzzles

Our puzzles are based on historical records, but history is interpretation. Dates and details get revised as scholarship evolves. If you spot something you think is wrong, tell us — we'll look into it.

Using the site

Don't try to break it. No scraping, no automated bots, no attempts to manipulate the leaderboard. Play the game like a human.

Age

You need to be 13 or older to play. We don't collect data from anyone younger.

Changes

We'll update these terms when something material changes — new features that affect your data, new ways we share information, anything that would matter to you. The "updated" date at the top will reflect that, and we'll email you about anything significant.

Where this lives

Then & There operates from Tampa, Florida. These terms are governed by Florida law.
